KAOLIN. Fire clay which is the purest form of china clay which consists of a silicate of aluminum. The name is derived from a hill in China.

KNOCKOUT PINS (EJECTOR PINS). Pins of a small diameter affixed to die casting or permanent mold dies to eject the casting upon opening the die. Also used with shell pattern plates to strip the shell after curing.
