Industry Advisory Board
IISE's Industry Advisory Board is made up of professionals with extensive experience and responsibility in corporations ranging in size from small to global. Each member brings a unique and valuable perspective of the challenges companies face in today's global economy and how IISE can partner with industry to meet the challenges that industrial engineers face today and tomorrow.
Mission
The Industry Advisory Board (IAB) is a group of volunteer leaders dedicated to:
- Serving as a "voice of industry" to IISE's leadership and the academic community.
- Enhancing IISE's image, relevance and value proposition to industrial engineers working in industry.
- Increasing the awareness and knowledge of the industrial engineering profession and the tremendous value it provides society.
- Increasing the engagement of IISE's industry membership.
- Supporting the professional development and career growth of industry members.

To serve as the voice of our industrial engineering profession to the IISE by promoting industry initiatives.

- To build a strong foundation of support and communication between industry and the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE).
- Serving as a "voice of industry" to IISE's BOT and the academic community.
- Provide IISE training guidance to academia and IISE.

Mentorship
- Provide opportunities for experienced IAB members to coach and develop others, which set industrial & systems engineers apart from other disciplines.
- Promote the IISE Mentoring Board activity among IAB members.
- Promote mentoring between IAB members and YPs and influence IISE to find the RIGHT platform.

- Facilitate an arena for industry to share best practices to enhance our profession.

Awards
- The IAB group encourages our IAB members to nominate co-workers for IISE Industry-related Awards.
- The IAB group has been successful in increasing the number of Award Nominations from Industry.
- IAB sponsors the Middle Career Leadership Award.
YouTube Video Contest
The IAB group sponsors an annual YouTube Video Contest, where IISE Student Chapters submit short (3-10 minute) videos that target high school students. The contest features several cash prizes (donated by IAB members or their company or local IISE Chapter) and recognition at the IISE Annual Conference.
The IAB group provides judges for the videos (including some high school students). The annual contest has become very popular with University IISE Chapters. It also has generated a number of videos that are regularly seen by high school students who say it helped influence their decision to pursue industrial engineering when applying to a university.

Performance Excellence Track at the IISE Annual Conference
