In 1998, Fortune magazine started publishing its annual list of the “100 Best Companies to Work For in the United States.” The list is based on research conducted by an employee satisfaction consulting company called Great Place to Work. On greatplacetowork.com, Claire Hastwell writes that the Fortune list is based on employee feedback about a company’s commitment to fostering a healthy, inclusive, and rewarding work culture.
