Odds are your organization does not use a formal process
to select your key performance indicator (KPI) benchmarks.
Instead, leaders refer to work sector norms, averages and
past performance levels to set such desired performance
hurdles. If you work in a hyper-competitive work world,
these benchmarks may reflect “stretch goals” that few, if
any, organizations have achieved to date.
