Armed forces career can provide a unique experience for IE professionals

During my second deployment to the Middle East, I found myself reflecting on my 17 years of service and the treasure trove of expertise I have obtained. After speaking with other professionals and students, I wanted to address the many misconceptions about military service. These misconceptions are common among young engineers who believe military service comes at a loss of the industry experience needed for career progression. I have found this to be woefully untrue.
