Industrial engineers are often involved in the design, manufacture and improvement of products and processes. In some instances, these new products and processes include an inventive concept that may be eligible for patent protection. For many organizations, this intellectual property is critically important to their ability to compete in the marketplace. However, important aspects of the law have changed, requiring stakeholders to revisit how they seek out patent protection.
