Sneak Preview of CISE’s Performance Track, Special Worksessions at
IISE’s May Annual Meeting and Conference
Apr. 2, 2026
Join Dr. Scott Sink for a Sneak Preview of what the Council on Industrial and Systems Engineering has lined up for you in Arlington Texas on Sunday, May 17th.
CISE is an affinity group of 25 of the Senior Leaders of the Industrial and Systems Engineering (or Op Ex/BPI) leaders in their organizations. (Boeing, GM, Henry Ford Health, Disney, Chik-fil-A, UPS, John Deere, Consumers Energy, Sobeys, are examples you’ll recognize). These leaders are at the cutting
edge of ISE Deployment in complex organizations. They are thought leaders in our field and tapping into their wisdom on Sunday, the first day of the conference will be worth the price of admission—I guarantee.
We’ve created five special, 80-minute sessions, just for you industry practitioners who are wanting to stay abreast of the latest ISE innovation.
ISE’s Modeling Systems to enable predictive and
prescriptive analytics and Study-Adjust. Abby Trombley, Marathon Petroleum, is organizing this 80-minute work session and will be joined by members from Boeing and The Poirier Group to lead and guide this session.
- ISE’s tacking the People dimension of
Strategy-People-Process-Technology equation. I will be coordinating a small group from John Deere, Chik-fil-A,
- ISE’s leading the way to build better Performance
Measurement and Analytics systems to drive rapid benefits
realization. I will also be coordinating this special session but will be joined by a strong team from Newmark, UT Physicians in Houston, and others to discuss how we can accelerate and improve Study-Adjust-Improve systems.
- One of my favorite special sessions is IISE/CISE’s
ISE Capstone Senior Design Showcase and Competition. It’s a chance for practitioners and students to see assembled in one room the top 20+ capstone Sr Design Projects from ISE Departments in North, Central and South America (and beyond). It’s a combined networking mixer along
with the Poster Showcase.
- And, finally, a great case study from Mayo
Clinic that focuses on how they have very successfully employed key principles and methods from the Toyota Production system to create sustained improvements.
