ISE Impact — Short Video Contest

Submit your entry by Jan. 15, 2026!

The ISE-Impact Short Video Contest showcases a wide variety of interesting/impactful/fun applications of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) to intended audiences such as undecided first-year college students and high school students, their families, teachers, and college counselors.

Now in its fourth round, you can check out the wide range of applications and creativity of previous winning submissions on the IISE website and YouTube . To complement the existing videos, this round encourages submissions focusing on applications that have not been covered by previous videos and showcasing specific details on how ISE tools are used to create value.

Format

Streaming video in English and with English subtitles that can be published to multiple social media outlets (e.g., YouTube, TikTok, Instagram) and complies with fair use of copyrighted materials guidelines.

Length

The ideal length is between 30 and 60 seconds. Longer submissions will need to be shortened accordingly for consideration.

Content

A short video describing specific application of ISE techniques within an internship, job, senior/capstone design, or real-world situation that would help the intended audience understand how our discipline can help solve critical societal problems. Be creative!

Special consideration will be given to videos that:

  1. Are exciting and engaging, with appropriate graphics, background, or places that will enhance the message.
  2. Connect to skills/interests/goals that high school students would typically relate.
  3. Provide clear details on how ISE tools create value in that setting.

In addition, we will also strongly consider videos that follow popular trends such as “A day in the life of…” or directly, but creatively, answer the question: “Why I chose ISE.”
