Health systems leaders gather in Louisville to discuss innovative solutions
NORCROSS, Ga. – Jan. 30, 2023 – Healthcare process innovation from patient check-in to checkout will be the
focus at the Healthcare Systems Process Improvement Conference (HSPI), Feb. 15-17 at the Kentucky International
Convention Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
Presented by the Society for Health Systems of the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers, the HSPI 2023
conference will include a new series of presentations known as “Intensives.” These sessions will offer deep dives on
topical subjects from a handful of improvement experts.
“These are set to be engaging sessions. They’re not meant to be one-directional information sharing but more
engagement, rolling up your sleeves and collaborating, having a discussion around a book club,” said HSPI Conference
Committee Chair Ashley Benedict, Ph.D., UF Health, Saint Petersburg, Florida, in an episode of Problem Solved: The
IISE Podcast.
The Intensives cover “Design Thinking in Healthcare,” “Health AI & Innovation,” “Path to Process Improvement,”
“Resume Review,” “Using Two-Dimensional Gap-Analysis to Facilitate Effective, Efficient Initiatives,” and ponder
“What is the Theory of Constraints and How Can It Be Used to Improve Patient Flow?”
Other program highlights
include a facility tour at UPS Worldport and ample time to network – at a student reception,
speed networking and welcome reception, a networking lunch and vendor reception, and breaks for exhibit hall
gatherings each day. Keynote presentations feature Chief Medical Officer Jody Crane, M.D., of TeamHealth, Richmond,
Virginia, Stacy Cassio, founder and CEO of the Pink Mentor Network, Charlotte, North Carolina, and a lunch panel
with the Louisville Healthcare CEO Council.
“I can’t believe how much we’re jamming into three days,” Benedict said.
