VIRTUAL LEAN SIX SIGMA AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE CONFERENCE HELPS SOLVE PROBLEMS IN YEAR OF PANDEMIC

NORCROSS, Georgia – Sept. 29, 2020 – The virtual Engineering Lean & Six Sigma Conference 2020 + Artificial Intelligence Symposium keynote speakers are experts in integrating process improvement and big data – hot topics for educators, students and corporate managers.

Keynoters IBM Chief Technical Officer Ben Amaba and Emory Healthcare Vice President of Quality Victoria Jordan will speak Oct. 12-14 during the virtual event that offers attendees 40-plus live and recorded sessions that run the gamut from profitable manufacturing in the age of COVID-19 to five classic Lean practices for pandemic times along with six results-oriented practices for Lean leadership, and how AI builds standard work and implements wearable technology. A featured presentation “Using Artificial Intelligence to Accelerate a Lean Six Sigma Initiative” takes place Oct. 14 by Sreekanth Ramakrishnan, IBM, Michael Testani, Binghamton University and Ben Amaba, IBM.

Considered a global hub for sharing organizational transformation discoveries fueled by Lean and Six Sigma thinking, the ELSS Conference is conducted annually by the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE). Lean Six Sigma improves the quality of management, working processes and applies resources in a targeted way that can dramatically increase the productive and creative potential across a business population.

The conference attracts industrial, management, manufacturing and quality engineers, healthcare professionals, consultants, operational and supply chain managers and professional educators.

Attending the ELSS conference is recommended “whether you’re using Lean, Six Sigma, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence or, like the best process improvement experts, breaking down silos with a tool selection from multiple boxes,” says ELSS 2020 Conference Chair James Swisher, PE, PMP. Swisher, president of Hawkeye Business Solutions, notes that the AI Symposium – added to ELSS in 2020 – features “AI all-stars from IBM, Chick-fil-A, Carnegie Mellon University and the Dearborn AI Research Center.”

Also new this year is a virtual workshop on Oct. 14 from 1 to 5 p.m. – “Toyota Kata: People and Processes” by Leigh Ann Schildmeier, founder and president of Park Avenue Solutions. Separate, advance registration is required for the workshop.

Online registration closes Oct. 8, 2020. View the ELSS Conference + AI Symposium schedule and visit www.iise.org/LeanSixSigma for more information.
