Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers receives $15,350 grant from The UPS Foundation
NORCROSS, Ga. – Jan. 29, 2018 – The Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) received a $15,350 grant from The UPS Foundation, which drives global corporate citizenship and philanthropic programs for UPS (NYSE:UPS).
The grant will be used toward the continuation of the IISE Minority and Women Industrial Engineer Outreach Program, which includes the UPS Minority Advancement Award and scholarships for female and minority industrial engineering students.
The award recognizes organizations or individuals that, through innovative means, have developed programs or projects directed to the advancement of women, minorities or individuals with disabilities in the field of industrial engineering. The scholarships are the UPS Scholarship for Female Students and the UPS Scholarship for Minority Students.
“The long-time commitment by UPS to enhance lives and futures by supporting diversity in the industrial and systems engineering community is unsurpassed,” said IISE CEO Don Greene. “The program inspires and encourages our youth and truly is the gift that keeps on giving to the profession, IISE and the award and scholarship recipients. There are engineers practicing today who earned their degrees with the help of this program. We are forever appreciative of this UPS grant and its life-changing effect on the winning students.”
