IISE U.S. Western Region

Welcome to the U.S. Western Region website

IISE's U.S. Western Region currently has approximately 2,500 active IISE members who reside in the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. Roughly 1,900 are local professional or student chapter members, with 600 members in the region that do not belong to a local chapter.

Chapter Management

Responsibilities of Region Leaders

The major responsibility of the region leaders is to support the professional and student chapters. They also have responsibility to keep IISE headquarters, in particular the CN (chapter networking) staff, and the senior vice president (SVP) of CN up-to-date with chapter activities.

Sean Genovese

REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT: Sean Genovese
Industrial Engineering Manager, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, Palmdale, California

Sean Genovese is the industrial engineering manager for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Palmdale, California. After graduating from Cal Poly, SLO with a degree in industrial engineering, Sean joined the defense division of The Boeing Company in Huntington Beach, California. Over the next 14 years he supported both defense and commercial programs in Texas, Florida, Arizona, Washington and the United Kingdom with capacity analysis studies, asset management, organizational change and lean process improvement projects. Sean also has a master’s degree in technology management from the University of Texas, San Antonio. He has served IISE in various leadership positions since 2013.

Dustin Diep 

ASSISTANT REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT: Dustin Diep

Dustin Diep received his undergraduate degree in industrial engineering from Oregon State University. He is currently working as an analyst for Deloitte Consulting as a part of the Government and Public Services area. He joined IISE in 2016 as a part of the student chapter and is currently involved with leadership with the Western Region as well as the sustainable development division. His interests lie in continuous improvement activities and sustainability.

Alyssa Emerson

ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT STUDENT DEVELOPMENT: Alyssa Emerson

Alyssa Emerson recently obtained her B.S. in industrial engineering (2019) from Cal Poly Pomona where as an undergraduate, she was heavily involved with her department and college. She served as the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) chapter president from 2016-2017, the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) president from 2017-2018 and as program manager for the Northrop Grumman Collaboration Project (2018-2019). She currently works as an industrial engineer at the Lockheed Martin Corporation in Palmdale, California.
