Health and Safety of Annual Conference Attendees - March 31, 2020

To All Those Planning to Attend the 2020 IISE Annual Conference:

We know that you are all concerned about COVID-19. At IISE, the health and welfare of our members and conference attendees are our top priority. We are closely monitoring all relevant information, using the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and other reputable sources as primary resources.

We understand the predicament you are faced with regarding the IISE Annual Conference & Expo. As you know, the event is scheduled for May 30-June 2 in New Orleans. We recognize the severe conditions currently in New Orleans. Our intent is to hold the Conference, but we recognize that it may not be feasible to hold it as scheduled. We are in communications with the conference hotel and other service providers exploring all options. Factors can rapidly change that could impact our decision. As conclusions are reached, we will provide that information here and through other communications channels.

We encourage you to continue to prepare for the Conference if you plan to be a presenter or participant. Whether the Conference takes place as originally planned or changes, we hope that you will participate. We will make decisions regarding the event in as timely a manner as we reasonably can.

If it becomes necessary for us to change the schedule or format for the Conference, we will be liberal and fair in determining refunds or credits. Please be assured that we will do everything we reasonably can if this adverse environment continues. Your health and our relationship with you are what is most important to us.

We have altered the due dates for speaker and early registrations, moving the dates into late April. We hope this will better enable you to make informed decisions. IISE staff will stay in touch with all speakers and registrants regarding any changes and our conference website will be altered as needed.

Please rest assured that IISE and its leaders are staying informed of this rapidly changing situation. If plans change, we will inform you immediately. We are here to support you during these trying times and hope that you will remain an active participant in our organization. Our Mission Statement is that we serve those who solve the critical and complex problems of the world. This is certainly one of those problems and together, we can get through this while helping others around the globe.

Thank you for your patience during this difficult time.
