After careful consideration regarding the continuing developments surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) as well as the World Health Organization (WHO) declaring the virus a "pandemic" during a news conference in Geneva March 11, the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) conference management team is postponing the Applied Ergonomics Conference (AEC) to a later date in 2020. The AEC was scheduled for March 16-19 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

As you know, IISE has been closely monitoring the situation related to the coronavirus with the health and safety of attendees as the priority. As previously communicated and listed on the Applied Ergonomics Conference website, AEC participants have been urged to follow the developing situation and updated advice by accessing reliable sources such as the  Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In addition, several measures were planned on-site at the Kentucky International Convention Center during AEC consistent with the CDC and WHO guidelines, such as "distributing bottles of alcohol-based hand sanitizer to all attendees," etc.

However, postponement of AEC 2020 was unavoidable as the event could not proceed as scheduled due to forces beyond anyone's control.

The IISE conference management team is working to secure dates to reschedule the show at the same venue in Louisville later in 2020. The new dates for the event will be announced as soon as possible. Please be assured that IISE will continue to keep its AEC registrants informed of details related to postponement and rescheduling. Your conference registration fee will be applied toward the rescheduled AEC conference. In the meantime, please take the necessary steps to change your hotel and travel plans for AEC at its previously scheduled date of March 16-19, 2020.

The AEC staff and volunteers truly appreciate your support, patience and cooperation as we continue to work through this challenging situation. Look for updates on AEC 2020 at:
