Introduction to Process Modeling with Process Playground

0.7 CEUs

Overview

IISE and MoreSteam are pleased to present this online course.

Enhance your journey toward process design excellence. This course introduces the concepts needed to build process models that help you design new processes, improve old processes, and teach and learn Lean concepts.

Processes in most organizations are designed by leaning on past experience and good intentions – but all too often, the results fall short of expectations, leading to dissatisfied customers and a cycle of expensive find-and-fix efforts. Where do these design problems start? Static process maps generally don't account for real-world variability, but the antidote is more robust design practices that can lead to more confidence in the success of a process. This course outlines the methodology for using process modeling to determine what elements work and then arrange them in an optimal configuration to achieve the intended purpose.

Our goal is to help you enhance your organization's product or process development process by drawing upon a new set of tools, all focused on ensuring a design can meet customer requirements. Through process modeling, you'll be able to:

  • "Build to Think" and explore a wider design space
  • Stress-test your processes against variation
  • Develop best practice operating procedures
  • Mitigate risks and develop FMEAs
  • Make your case and get buy-in from stakeholders
