Overview:
This course is designed to prepare the black belt or “master practitioner” for implementing lean throughout the healthcare organization. It will lay the groundwork for building a lean healthcare transformation by portraying the entire spectrum of a lean transformation. By the end of this course, participants will be able to answer these questions:
- How do the steps of the lean enterprise fit together in the healthcare system?
- How does a lean "black belt" provide direction and vision toward an organizational lean effort?
- How does a lean "black belt" apply the principles of lean across the enterprise
This eight-day program is divided into two separate four-day programs. Participants are required to submit a project for evaluation after the first course before completing the second course. Participants who successfully complete a project and pass an online exam will receive IISE’s Lean Black Belt.
Testimonial
The instructor used practical examples and group exercises to illustrate the concepts. This was both engaging and very effective.
