Certified Ergonomic Process Specialist (CEPS)

Overview:

Creating a safe and healthy work environment is key to long-term business success. The Certified Ergonomic Process Specialist (CEPS®) program was designed for employees responsible for ergonomics at their company. The content was developed to teach applied ergonomics and educate employees on both the technical and implementation aspects of an ergonomics process. CEPS® are certified to identify, evaluate, prioritize, and solve ergonomics-related challenges.

What You Will Learn:

At the conclusion of the course, you will be able to:

  • Identify potential risks within job functions
  • Conduct risk assessments (using multiple risk tools)
  • Prioritize job functions with risk and implement
  • Understand common methods to solve ergonomic problems and develop corrective actions

Prerequisites

There are no educational prerequisites. Candidates must be employed by the company implementing the ergonomics process. Utilization of the materials and tools to consult or distribute external to your organization is not permitted.

Certification

To earn the CEPS certificate, students must successfully complete a post-course proctored exam and successfully complete a project.

The exam consists of 80 questions and must be completed in 120 minutes or less. The exam fee is included in the course cost. Students are entitled to one additional complimentary exam attempt if they do not pass on their first attempt.

Successful completion of a project includes review and approval from a minimum of 3 Ergonomists. Each Ergonomist will conduct a blind review of the submitted work and select the level of competency on a scale of 1-4. A total score of 9 is needed in each of the 4 sections to complete the project.
