Integrating AI and Ethics into Team Decision Quality

2 Days | 1.4 CEUs

Overview:

The need to make not only sound strategic decisions within an organization, but also ethical decisions is imperative in today’s globally connected environment that now features widely available tools from artificial intelligence (AI).

However, many organizations have unanswered questions about how to build a systematic capability that enables quality decision-making within a group, that leverages AI into the decision-making, and that simultaneously provides an ethical assessment of the decision.

Those questions can be from both a decision-making and an ethical perspective.

From a decision-making perspective, questions include:

  1. How do you decide within a group?
  2. How do you assess the quality of a decision?
  3. How do you avoid common decision-making traps?
  4. How do you minimize the effects of group (and individual) cognitive biases on decision-making?
  5. How do you build an organization’s decision culture?
  6. How do you integrate artificial intelligence into the decision-making process?

And, from an ethical decision-making perspective, questions include:

  1. How do you assess the ethical quality of decisions?
  2. What are the common mindsets that impede the quality of ethical decisions within an organization?
  3. How do you build an organization's ethical decision culture?

This course will address these questions from the perspectives of two fields: decision analysis and ethical decision-making. It will draw conclusions and insights based on normative and behavioral decision-making, thousands of media articles, documentaries, movies, organizational decisions, and case studies. The course also includes common patterns of decision-traps drawn from the data mining of media articles and decisions made in numerous organizations including Theranos, Valeant, Enron, Wells Fargo, VW, FTX, and many others.
