Bio - Neal F. Schmeidler

Neal Schmeidler is founder, owner and president of OMNI Engineering & Technology Inc. in McLean, Va. For two decades, OMNI has provided engineering solutions to resource management challenges for clients in federal and local governmental agencies as well as firms in the private sector.

Mr. Schmeidler has more than 35 years experience analyzing work and business activities to find solutions that improve organizational performance. He has applied his skills to many activities including several of national significance such as air traffic control, aviation safety inspection, food safety inspection, test and evaluation of ocean oil spill response capability, medical care response to acts of bioterrorism, maintenance of the National Airspace System, and space shuttle orbiter maintenance.

Mr. Schmeidler is a fellow of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) and a Fellow of the Washington Academy of Sciences (WAS). He is a past regional vice president for the IISE, and a past director of the Society for Work Sciences. He is currently a member of the WAS Board of Managers, the treasurer of IISE's National Capital Chapter, and the treasurer of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society’s Potomac Chapter (HFES POC).

Recognition of Mr. Schmeidler’s work includes: the Management Award from the Society for Engineering and Management (SEMS), Engineering Sciences Award from the WAS, Certificate of Recognition from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for his research work at the John F. Kennedy Space Center, and Senior Engineer of the Year Award from the Washington, D.C. Council of Engineering and Architectural Societies (DCCEAS) for his contributions in the field of industrial engineering.
