Overview
IISE has created an opportunity for you to make some sense of AI. We have developed this offering as an extension of our Annual Conference, making it even more compelling for you to attend this Integrated/Industrial and Systems Engineering event in Montreal.
We’ll tackle both the ethics and risk side of AI as well as the possibilities and reduction to practice dimensions of AI in business, industry, government, healthcare.
We’ve assembled some Academic/Research leaders and importantly also some leaders of the Organizational Excellence Function at leading corporations in North America to help you with sense making for this complex subject.
Our Symposium is designed to share perspectives and points of view from subject matter experts and then engage participants is smaller breakout groups allowing you to ask questions, share ideas, engage with our speakers and other attendees.

FEATURED SPEAKERS
Olivier Blais
Olivier is the co-founder and VP of Decision Science at Moov AI, a leading consulting firm in data valorization and artificial intelligence. He oversees both internal and external innovation to deploy applied AI solutions for companies such as Pratt & Whitney, Metro, Ricardo, and Sharethrough.
His personal goal is to guide companies in deploying high quality and safe AI solutions that enhance decision-making. In 2023, he was appointed as the Chair of the Canadian delegation for artificial intelligence of the ISO/IEC. He is also the editor of global ISO standards defining the quality of AI systems, where he leads a team of 50 international AI experts.
Joé T. Martineau, Ph.D.
Joé T. Martineau, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in ethical management at HEC Montreal, in the management department. For more than 10 years, she has been teaching organisational ethics, governance and management courses, in different programs. She has a doctoral training in ethical management (HEC Montreal), and also a double
postdoctoral training in neuroethics (IRCM) and in health services administration (UdeM). Dr. Martineau is also a researcher associated to the Ethical Management Chair of the HEC Montreal, an associate member of the Pragmatic Health Ethics Research Unit (IRCM) and a regular member of the Institut d’Éthique Appliquée (IDEA) of Université
Laval.
Her research interests are related to the composition of ethics programs, diversity of ethical management, practices in organizations, the different factors that influence ethical thinking and behaviour in organizations, ethics and decision-making neuroscience, as well as ethics of neuroscience applied to organizational context. More globally,
she is interested in management and ethics of private and public organizations and health sectors.
Foutse Khomh, Ph.D.
Foutse Khomh, Ph.D., is a Canada CIFAR AI Chair at Mila and a professor at the Department of Computer Engineering and Software Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal.
Khomh is a leader in Software Engineering (SE) with strong emphasis on the use of Machine Learning (ML) in supporting SE activities, and the use of SE to engineer world-class trustworthy ML systems. His work uniquely combines his deep knowledge on software quality and ML to tackle the multifaceted problem of engineering trustworthy
ML-powered software systems. Khomh’s research activities contribute theories, methods, and tools to support the development, testing, and release of dependable and trustworthy ML-powered software systems. His work has received four ten-year Most Influential Paper (MIP) Awards, and six Best/Distinguished paper Awards. Khomh is a recipient of
the CS-Can/Info-Can Outstanding Young Computer Science Researcher Prize in 2020 – Canada’s highest accolade for an early career academic in Computing.
