A statement from the President, Past President, and President-Elect of IISE
We are deeply saddened by the events surrounding the death of Mr. George Floyd in Minneapolis and similar situations elsewhere. IISE values and celebrates the diversity of participants in the Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) profession worldwide and the stakeholders who benefit from the contributions of these professionals. Accordingly, we uphold these values for all, regardless of origins, circumstances, or socio-historical contexts, through active engagement with diversity and active commitments to inclusion. Please review the detailed
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement and Core Commitments as approved by IISE Board of Trustees on March 7, 2019.
IISE views membership as a privilege and has expectations of its members to uphold the values associated with diversity, equity, and inclusion when engaged with the profession, with the public, and in research and practice. Dr. Tonya Smith-Jackson serves as the Inaugural Chair of the DE&I Committee and if you wish to share your thoughts, ideas, and/or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us anytime.
Together we can and will make a difference.
