IISE UPDATE on Coronavirus (COVID-19)
May 19, 2020
To Our IISE Community ...
As of May 1, the IISE staff returned to the headquarters office in metro Atlanta after working remotely per guidelines set by the
governor of Georgia and in concert with IISE’s human resources firm. Adhering to state and Centers for Disease
Control & Prevention (CDC) guidelines, the staff takes temperatures at entrances, wears masks and
gloves, and follows social distancing.
Returning to a new normal is certainly a
departure from our past operations.
We
continue to review IISE events and make decisions based on current developments.
IISE’s Annual Conference & Expo has been rescheduled for Oct. 31-Nov. 3 in
New Orleans. We are hard at work to make the premier industrial and systems engineering event successful. View
the revised schedule and new registration dates. The early-bird discount
deadline is Sept. 13. Please follow www.iise.org/Annual for updates on the status.
We continue to reformat the 2020 Applied Ergonomics Conference as a virtual
event to be held Aug. 4-6. Please follow www.iise.org/AEC for updates.
We just launched new
and exciting virtual training courses, in addition to the many training
programs that are already available online on-demand. These ISE Microlearning Refreshers offer you
a quick and cost-efficient way to keep your skills up to date, earn CEUs
for your Professional Engineering recertifications and enhance your digital
badge collection. Visit www.iise.org/TrainingCenter for all training courses and schedules.
Make sure to share
your voices in the IISE Connect Crisis Resource
Community that gives ISEs a
designated online place to share potential solutions and responses to some of
the immediate challenges we’re facing. This community enables us all to share
ideas and work toward solutions together. For global pandemic resources, IISE
crisis-related webinars and healthcare think tanks, check out the IISE Coronavirus Resource
and Response webpage.
Please rest
assured that IISE and its leaders are doing all we can to remain informed of
this rapidly changing situation. We will make decisions in as timely a manner
as possible and will inform you immediately. We are here to support you during
these trying times and hope that you will remain an active participant in our
organization.
Our Mission
Statement is that we serve those who solve the critical and complex problems of
the world. This is certainly one of those problems and together, we can get
through this while helping others around the globe.
Thank you
for your patience during this difficult time. Stay tuned and stay safe!
