IISE Logistics and Supply Chain (lsc) Division Teaching Award

The Logistics and Supply Chain (LSC) Division Teaching Award recognizes excellence in teaching of logistics and supply chain courses. The award will be presented at the LSC Town Hall Meeting at the upcoming IISE Annual Conference & Expo, New Orleans, May 20-23, 2023.

Eligibility criteria:

  • The candidate must be a member of IISE and the LSC division.
  • The course for which the candidate is being recognized must be an undergraduate or a graduate logistics and/or supply chain course (examples of course titles might be Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, etc.) within an engineering or similar programs.
  • Course materials for which they are being recognized must have been developed and taught by the candidate for at least three years or more.

Nominations may be made by a faculty colleague or a student who has taken the course from the candidate. The nomination package must consist of the following:

  • Two Letters of support, one from a faculty member and one from a student.
  • Course syllabus and supporting items such as samples of different instructional materials used.
  • Optionally, the nomination package can contain summary copies of teaching evaluations for the course the candidate is being recognized.
  • Curriculum Vitae of the candidate.
  • A one-page reflective statement by the individual being nominated.

All supporting documents in the nomination package should be submitted in PDF format. Please email the entire nomination package either as a single PDF file or a single compressed/zipped file to iiselscawards@gmail.com to the attention of the LSC Division Awards Co-Directors for full consideration. There is no application fee.

Nominations are due March 6, 2023, by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.

Recognition

  • Recognition at the Annual Conference:
    • at the LSC Town Hall Meeting
    • in Honors and Awards program
    • before the final day keynote address
  • Certificate provided by IISE (either mailed or given at the town hall meeting) for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners.
  • 1st Place winner receives a complimentary ticket to the Honors and Awards banquet.
  • Recognition in ISE magazine
  • Recognition on LSC webpage and in the newsletter
