LIMITING QUALITY (LQ).  When a lot is considered in isolation, a quality level which for the purposes of sampling inspection is limited to a low probability of acceptance.  Notes: (1) For a particular sampling system, the probability of acceptance will lie within a defined range. (2) Limiting quality is an unsatisfactory term but it is widely used.  Isolated lot limiting quality level is a more satisfactory name for the concept. [2: 2.7.3].
