QUANTITATIVE DISPLAY. A display which provides numerical values as opposed to one in which only qualitative information is provided.

QUICKENING. A form of display aiding in a manual control task, in which displayed error is computed as a combination of present error, velocity, and acceleration. The display thus indicates the likely future state of the system in the absence of control.
