Lessons from the folded cup

On my desk, I have one of those coneshaped paper cups that one might find at a water cooler. The cup is not still in use – it is a reminder of a great example of sustainability I learned in life, long before it was cool to be seen as environmentally responsible. The cup has been neatly flattened and then folded in half. The neatness of an engineer is obvious. After all, that is how my dad kept his water cooler cup in his wallet so he could reuse it as he went through each day.
