Industrial development vs. sustainability

Ever since the 2008 Olympic Games, global media has been following China’s persistent urban air pollution. Hardly a week passes without a print or Web headline concerning the unhealthy "dark skies" over Handan, Guangzhou, Xingtai, Baoding and, of course, Beijing. Having returned from a recent trip to China and having witnessed the changes in China over the last 15 years, it is clear this problem is serious.
