A case scanning process to optimize inbound logistics
This case study explores a process optimization project
focused on enhancing the inbound logistics scanning
process within a high-volume warehouse setting. The
operation involved manual unloading, scanning and
put-away of nonpalletized boxes received from multiple
vendors. The existing process exhibited inefficiencies such
as extended turnaround time, poor labor utilization, idle time
between scans and syncing issues with handheld terminals
(HHTs).
