Beyond electricity to solve climate change
ISE magazine's column about innovation
By Nabil Nasr
Climate change and its impacts remain
a troubling concern following last September's
meeting of the United Nations
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change. Beforehand, the Ellen
MacArthur Foundation published a
report stating that “renewable energy
is not enough.” I was happy to see
this point made so clearly. Transitioning
to renewables is important and necessary,
but as an isolated strategy, it is not
enough to cut carbon emissions to sustainable
levels.
