A recipe to transition from engineer to leader

Many young health system engineers have a goal of transitioning into a leadership position. Having made this transition two years ago, I have learned a lot – from the growth afforded me by my involvement with the leadership and management track at the Healthcare Systems Process Improvement Conference (see www.iise.org/HSPI for more on the recent, February gathering) to advice from mentors.
