A younger industrial engineering manager recently asked me a question that has become a classic to those familiar with pushing the rock of continuous improvement uphill. His question was simple – what should you do when you are having trouble getting front-line leaders to buy into the continuous improvement effort? You probably have been asked, or have asked, this question a time or two. What should we do? How long should we wait for all our leaders to get on board?
