The IISE/Joint Publishers Book-of-the-Year Award
The purpose of the IISE/Joint Publishers Book-of-the-year Award is to recognize an outstanding published book that focuses on a facet of industrial engineering, improves education, or furthers the profession.
Nomination Form
Requirements
- The subject matter of the book should be concerned directly with one or more areas of industrial engineering.
- The book should be authoritative and comprehensive, and written in the English language.
- The book should present a significant contribution to the field of knowledge. Style and format should be engaging and accessible.
- The book must have been published in one of the five years preceding the award nomination deadline.
Criteria:
The following criteria will be used in determining award winners:
- The extent to which the book presents a significant contribution to the field of knowledge.
- The degree to which the contribution provides value for new research, future applications, improved practice, or education.
- The clarity and excellence of the exposition.
Nomination process:
A nomination should consist of:
- A completed electronic nomination form.
- A nomination letter and three letters of recommendation, limited to two pages each. The letters should explain why the book is deserving of the award. Nomination and recommendation letters should address some or all the evaluation criteria.
- A hardcopy or electronic copy of the book.
