VINOD SAHNEY AWARD: SYSTEMS ENGINEERING APPLICATION TO IMPROVE HEALTHCARE

The Vinod Sahney Award recognizes professionals who use systems engineering concepts to improve care by partnering with clinicians, administration, and patients to improve efficiency and effectiveness of care.

Eligibility

This award is open to process improvement professionals committed to providing outstanding patient care through improvements in care delivery systems.

Award

The winner will be awarded $2,000 for travel and attendance cost at the Healthcare Process Improvement Conference. 

Nomination process

  • Complete and return the submission form to questions.shs@gmail.com.
  • NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 2025.
  • Award to be announced by December 1.
  • Includes demographic section, responses to specific questions about improvement, up to 7 pages explaining the improvement.
  • Submission endorsed by CEO, CFO, or COO (or another C-Suite executive)
  • Nominee must be a member of the Society for Health Systems (join here).

Judging

This award is judged by a committee appointed by the Society for Health Systems Board of Directors. Judging will be based on the following criteria: use of new or established systems engineering concepts; level of care improvement; partnership with clinicians, administration and patients; improvements to efficiency; and effectiveness of care.
