IISE Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

March 31, 2020

To Our IISE Community ...

Like you, the leadership and staff of IISE are concerned about COVID-19. At IISE, the health and welfare of our members, customers and staff are our top priority. We are closely monitoring all relevant information, using the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and other reputable sources as primary resources.

We also continue to review IISE events and make decisions based on continuing developments. IISE’s Annual Conference & Expo is scheduled for May 30-June 2 in New Orleans. We recognize the severe conditions currently in New Orleans. Our intent is to hold the Conference, but we recognize that it may not be feasible to hold it as scheduled. We are in communications with the conference hotel and other service providers exploring all options. Please follow www.iise.org/Annual for updates on the status.

And, following the guidelines set by the governor of Georgia and the Gwinnett County Commission, the staff at IISE’s office in Norcross, Georgia, is currently working from home until at least April 14. Staff members are fully operational and accessible to you via email and phone during this period. IISE will re-assess the duration of the staff telecommute status based on evolving events.

We can also share our voices now in the IISE Connect Crisis Resource Community that gives ISEs a designated online place to share potential solutions and responses to some of the immediate challenges we’re facing. You’re encouraged to participate in discussion posts, direct messaging, announcements, calendar of events, blogging and the resource library by adding pertinent documents for others to read and download. This new community will enable us all to share ideas and work toward solutions together.

Please rest assured that IISE and its leaders are doing all we can to remain informed of this rapidly changing situation. We will make decisions in as timely a manner as possible and will inform you immediately. We are here to support you during these trying times and hope that you will remain an active participant in our organization.

Our Mission Statement is that we serve those who solve the critical and complex problems of the world. This is certainly one of those problems and together, we can get through this while helping others around the globe.

Thank you for your patience during this difficult time. Stay tuned and stay safe!
