Successful Integrated LeanSigma Case Studies
Presenters: D. Scott Sink, Ph.D., Katie Monahan, Michael Beardsley and Daniel Pitroff, The Ohio State University
The integrated systems engineering department at The Ohio State University showcases the "best of best — most impactful" capstone Integrated LeanSigma Certification projects in this lunch and learn webinar sponsored by the Columbus/Eastern Ohio Chapter of IISE. Katie has designed and developed an employee value-exchange optimization program that has the potential to ensure that Interim Healthcare can capture in excess of $6M a year in revenue that it presently can’t staff. Michael has designed and developed a “Make/Buy Model” that Peerless is now using to outsource their steel circle-laser cutting process to their steel supplier. This is simplifying their business, has human factors engineering benefits, and also significantly reduces cost of goods sold. Daniel Pitroff has built a data model for Kroger that will enable the bakery to ultimately achieve level 4/5 (optimized) level of process maturity for their cookie band/line, and reduce yield loss on that and other lines of product.
Three outstanding successful projects and applications of ISE and Lean and Six Sigma that you all will value and learn from.
