DEPOSITED METAL. Filler metal that has been added during a welding operation.
DEPOSITION EFFICIENCY. The ratio of the weight of deposited metal to the net weight of electrodes consumed, exclusive of stubs.
DEPOSITION RATE. The weight of metal deposited in a unit of time.
DEPTH OF FUSION. The distance that fusion extends into the base metal or previous pass from the surface melted during welding.
DIP BRAZING. A brazing process in which the heat required is furnished by a molten chemical or metal bath. When a molten chemical bath is used, the bath may act as a flux. When a molten metal bath is used, the bath provides the filler metal.
