Presenter: Brian Harrington, professor, Wayne State University
With the evolution of process improvement software, it can be difficult to decide the right tool for the job. Using something too powerful and complex can be a lengthy and unnecessary process, but underestimating the depth of analysis required and choosing something too simplistic early in a project can result in repeated work later. So when is simulation the right tool for your project?
Brian Harrington has more than 20 years operations research and simulation experience at Ford Motor Co. He designs and implements process improvements incorporating conflicting objectives to make robust, flexible and lean systems. Brian is also a professor at Wayne State University teaching a graduate level stochastic systems class. As a certified black belt, he has led more than 50 major Six Sigma projects. He is also a certified MODAPS practitioner.
