SEMS proudly presents the 2013 ISERC Engineering Management (EM) Track!
The EM Track chairs wish the SEMS members a very happy new year. Planning for the ISERC is well underway in the Engineering Management track. We received more than 120 abstracts, with a wide range of topics including organizational transformation, learning organizations, and engineering management in healthcare. The full papers are due on Jan. 18, with the decisions communicated by Feb. 22. We thank all authors and session chairs for their contributions to what is turning out to be an extremely strong program.
This year, our featured speaker is Dr. Earll Murman from the Lean Advancement Initiative at MIT, who will focus his talk on "LAI Lean Academy Experience: Introductory Lean Six Sigma Curriculum." In addition, Dr. Alexandra Medina-Borja will also host a session on the NSF’s Directorate for Engineering Evaluation and Assessment System.
The SEMS Student Paper competition has also been announced. The goal of this competition is to highlight student papers and projects demonstrating or describing the use of management and industrial engineering tools and techniques for achieving bold goals. See the "Student View" section for details.
We are very pleased to offer a breadth of knowledge sharing and networking opportunities in the Engineering Management track this year, and we look forward to seeing you in San Juan, Puerto Rico! If you have any questions on the upcoming program, please reach out to the 2013 program chairs.
