iise Manufacturing and Design (m&D) Division Best Student Paper Award

The Best Student Paper Award recognizes excellence in a conference paper whose primary contributor is a student member of IISE and the Manufacturing and Design Division and encourages students to present their paper at the IISE Annual Conference & Expo, May 20-23, 2017 in Pittsburgh.

Eligibility requirements

  • The lead and presenting author must be an IISE student member and a member of the Manufacturing and Design Division at the time of submission.
  • Remain a member through the presentation at the IISE Annual Conference & Expo¬†(may go from student to professional).
  • The faculty advisors can be listed as co-authors, but the student authors must contribute the majority of the work in the paper and in the writing of the paper.

The same work cannot be presented for any other division/society award at the annual conference. A nomination form from the faculty advisor is required to be eligible for the best student paper competition. In order to be qualified for the best student paper award, the student authors must participate at the IISE Annual Conference & Expo and present their work.

The application will consist of submitting an application and a full paper to the Manufacturing and Design Track in ISERC conference via the conference's regular submission process. The standard abstract and paper submission deadlines will be followed The students who wish to be considered for the best student paper award should send an additional nomination form from their faculty advisor indicating that the students have contributed the majority of the research work and the writing of the paper.

The papers and the nomination form will be submitted via email to Guha Manogharan or Dusan Sormaz. They will verify the membership status of the authors with IISE and with the faculty advisor (and/or other faculty member) to verify the student status of the authors.

Winner notified: March 15, 2017
