The day we strive for
Supply chain planning managerMars Chocolate North AmericaHackettstown, New Jersey
I am the supply chain planning manager for the M&M’s brand and represent the supply and planning function on the M&M’s brand management team (BMT), which ensures an effective sales and operations planning process in areas of capacity planning and activity management. I am responsible for developing supply solutions for new product launches or changes to existing products and/or packaging as well as a production plan that will drive the production, finished goods inventory and financial plans.
I get the most satisfaction from associate and team development, university recruitment and creating a problem-solving culture with emphasis on preventive actions to avoid recurrent issues. In the past three years, I had the honor of building a team. I was able to interview and hire some of the associates and experience the incredible satisfaction of seeing two associates get promoted. Even if my contribution was a small grain of salt, I witnessed and supported a human being learn, grow and achieve their career objectives.
Working on helping teams find common objectives and their reason for being has become one of my recent passions. Seeing a team move from a collection of individuals to a team of people willing to sacrifice for the team has been an amazing journey.
A perfect day allows you to taste a culture where people enjoy coming to work. A day where you lead continuous improvement efforts to drive efficiency by empowering associates to improve their areas. At the same time, the process helps develop associates.
My dream job is to be a plant manager. It would give me the opportunity to touch so many more lives and encourage others to have a perfect day at work every day. I’m currently working toward a value stream manager role at one of our plants, where I would then have responsibility from beginning to end of several production lines to assure production of quality products within a safe and engaging environment.
