Is innovation the new differentiator?

The Dow Jones Average closed at 3,301 in 1992, compared to around 21,000 today. Interestingly, just over 50 percent of 1992 Dow component companies are still included in the average. Woolworth, Texaco, Eastman Kodak and others didn't survive as independent companies, or at all.
