Back in July 2005, the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) and Institute of Medicine (IOM) released a report that had an impact on the healthcare system in the United States and the role that systems engineers play. However, after nearly a decade, the interventions have not fully addressed all challenges. So where did it go right, and what is still left to do?
