Facility tours offer an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at continuous improvement in action at various facilities in a variety of industries. An additional fee is required for each tour to participate.

We develop industrial applications for the benefit of all GE businesses, and drive innovation in design and applications for AM. We focus on industrialization of six AM modalities and are poised to be GE’s Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence.

FedEx Ground – North Pitt

FedEx Ground is a leading small package delivery company headquartered right here in Pittsburgh. Their North Pitt station – located in sunny Zelienople – is one of their newest, high-tech, automated sortation facilities, with the ability to sort 15,000 packages per hour. Come take a tour of the station during a live inbound sort as they load thousands of packages onto vans for delivery throughout western PA and eastern OH.
Westinghouse Waltz Mill

The Westinghouse Operations and Control Center (WOCC) and Training areas – The WOCC tracks and oversee the service portfolio offered by Westinghouse at each of their customer sites. A tour of the WOCC will give the participants a glimpse of the logistics involved, the metrics utilized, and a look at real time video of maintenance operations at a nuclear power plant. The training and equipment high bay areas have a series of mockups that mimic plant equipment and components including robotic tooling.
