Networking Opportunities

Networking events are the social connections of the conference. According to Harvard Business School, 65 percent to 85 percent of all jobs are filled because someone knows someone else. The activities of the AEC Networking Committee provide opportunities for attendees to have some fun, catch up with fellow attendees and meet new contacts in the industry.

There are four main activities planned each year by the Networking Committee:

First Timer's Orientation
Tuesday, March 27
7:15 – 7:45 a.m.

The First Timer's Orientation assists conference attendees in navigating the conference program and activities to make the best of their time at the meeting. While it's geared toward those new to the conference, it is open to all attendees.

Networking Event - Off-site - Escape Room
Tuesday, March 27
6:30 – 9 p.m.
(limited space – additional fee required)

This Networking Event is the culmination of the Networking Committee's efforts to bring conference attendees together. Each year, we create an opportunity for attendees to gather in a relaxed atmosphere of sharing and networking. Now in its sixth year, this event has been growing in popularity.

The off-site event for 2018 will be a visit to an escape room, followed by dinner.

An escape room is a physical adventure game in which players solve a series of puzzles using clues, hints and strategy to complete the objectives at hand. Players are given a set time limit to unveil the secret plot which is hidden within the rooms. Escape rooms are inspired by "escape-the-room"–style video games.

Transportation will be provided.
