Networking events are the social connections of the conference. According to Harvard Business School, 65 percent to 85 percent of all jobs are filled because someone knows someone else. The activities of the AEC Networking Committee provide opportunities for attendees to have some fun, catch up with fellow attendees, and meet new contacts in the industry.
There are three main activities planned each year by the Networking Committee:
Ergo Speed NetworkingTuesday, March 28 – Immediately following the afternoon sessionsOne of the greatest perks of AEC is having the opportunity to network with some of the best ergo minds in the business.Speed networking is a way to increase your opportunities to quickly create business contacts that can help you with your program. This year, the AEC Committee is introducing a new and exciting opportunity for interaction between AEC attendees and some of the top universities and companies in the ergo world. In a fast, round-robin style interaction, you will meet representatives from numerous organizations that will broaden your connections, increase your exposure, and cultivate new partnerships with top-notch individuals and organizations. AEC Senior Quiz BowlTuesday, March 28 – Immediately following the Ergo Speed NetworkingParticipants will answer questions related to past AEC conferences over the last 20 years as well as questions related to ergonomics over this time. Participants should be seasoned AEC attendees – attending for 10 or more years. Sign up as a participant on the conference registration form or just come, watch, and have some fun! This event will take place shortly after the Ergo Speed Networking. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team.A drawing for a Disney Park ticket will be held immediately following the event.
